[Bug 342381] [NEW] i945 UXA performance drops on alpha5->alpha6 update

You have been subscribed to a public bug:

I've been using Jaunty alpha5 with my Vaio SZ1 laptop (i945 graphics)
succesfully with UXA acceleration. I had always upgraded the alpha5 to
latest intel / libdrm releases, but otherwise stuck with the alpha5
packages. Now, after upgrading to alpha6, UXA performance with this
laptop has become really poor. More specifically, the graphics are
"frozen", i.e. gnome-terminal takes 10s to load and moving the window or
writing to the window is very unresponsive. When running glxgears, the
gears turn very sluggishly, but on the otherhand glxgears reports some
650fps, which is in the same ballpark as before the upgrade. EXA still
works fine.

I'm currently running the 2.6.29-rc7 kernel from KernelMainlineBuilds,
but the same is true for the stock alpha6 kernel.

bash#: uname -a
Linux laptop 2.6.29-020629rc7-generic #020629rc7 SMP Wed Mar 4 12:14:25 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux

** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-i810 (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
