[Bug 382538] [NEW] Screen corruption on Intel 855GM

You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-driver-i810

After upgrading to Kubuntu 9.04 rendering of my screen os often garbled.
This happens with both 3D effects on and off (Alt + Shift + F12).
Strangely enough I can capture the corruption with KSnapshot.

$ lspci|grep VGA
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 82852/855GM Integrated Graphics Device (rev02)

$ dpkg-query -l | grep video-intel
ii  xserver-xorg-video-intel                   2:2.6.3-0ubuntu9.2                       X.Org X server -- Intel i8xx, i9xx display d

$ dpkg-query -l | grep kdebase
ii kdebase-bin 4:4.2.2-0ubuntu4 core binaries for the KDE 4 base module

I've seen another similar report, but that is a different card and the
corruption seems to be of a different kind.

** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-i810 (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
