[Bug 525155] Re: OpenGL renders extremely slowly with NVIDIA drivers

Using the 190.53 .run package driver with no xorg.conf:
1st reboot: corrupted visuals, screen shift
2nd reboot: works, but compiz fails because of no GLX extension

Using the 190.53 .run package driver with nvidia-xconfig:
1st reboot: works fine
2nd reboot: weird*
3rd reboot: works
4th reboot: works
5th reboot: weird*

Using the 190.53 from Jockey with Jockey's xorg.conf:
1st reboot: extreme slowness (as if CPU rendered)

Using the 190.53 from Jockey with no xorg.conf:
1st reboot: compiz doesn't work (Fatal: software rendering)

Using the 190.53 from Jockey with nvidia-xconfig:
1st reboot: extreme slowness (as if CPU rendered)

*weird:
1. screen is blank or says "Out of range"
2. it works after switching to tty1 and back to tty7
3. tty1..tty6 are all blank, no login prompt
4. shutdown actually logs out

As you can see, neither of the five combinations work properly.
