[Bug 517318] [NEW] Boot Crashes in Lucid Linx

You have been subscribed to a public bug:

I was using Lucid, but after installing some updates on Feb 2 I could
not boot into my computer.

The screen actually looked like it was melting into the centre of the screen.
The boot process makes it past grub but dies shortly after. I fooled around for a while to try and get it working, but had no luck. I reinstalled with an alpha 2 disc and was working again. I then did an apt-get dist-upgrade, rebooted and my screen was melting again. The only new software I installed on the second install was synaptic, Firefox and VLC.
The problem may have something to do with my video. I believe I am using the open chrome driver.
Here is a list of my hardware with lspci:

I have switched back to Karmic, so I can't offer much more.
I just wanted to pass on that your current package setup, as of Feb 3rd, will not boot on the above hardware.

If you want me to try another build, I could dual boot my laptop to test
it out.
