Hi,

I am using the 32 bit version, and the same error came up. 
All I have to do re-create the error is close the laptop lid and open up. I have "blank screen" setting in the power manager. Even suspend option for that fails. 

Suspend, hibernate  works fine by itself (by pressing suspend key)
