[Bug 536918] Re: X crashes after close and reopen lid on battery. X goes into failsafe-x mode

There's a backtrace in the X log so looks pretty definitely to be an X
crash. However I notice it is terminating on SIGQUIT, which sounds a
bit similar to bug #532047 or some permutation thereof. Can you try
uninstalling plymouth and seeing if you can reproduce the issue after
that?

** Summary changed:

- When I have my laptop on battery power and I close and reopen lid X goes into low-res mode
+ X crashes after close and reopen lid on battery. X goes into failsafe-x mode

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: xorg

The laptop suspends and resumes normally this was tested via kernel team
script. But if I have power management set to suspend when on battery
power and I close the lid, the laptop does not suspend as expected, If I
wait for a bit and reopen the lid I get a message that X is in a low-res
mode. I have to reboot to fix this.

This bug can be reproduced as it happens every time I do these steps.
