[Bug 538362] Re: [lucid] No X after upgrade to Alpha 3 on ATi Mobility Radeon HD 4500

** Attachment added: "messages.log"
   http://launchpadlibrarian.net/40900076/messages.log

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-ati

I just upgrade Ubuntu on my laptop to Lucid Alpha 3. The dist-upgrade
  with update-manager went OK.

After the reboot, the Plymouth horizontal progress bar appears at the
bottom of the screeen, it reaches the end and then nothing happens.

My xorg.conf was modified during the upgrade. No fglrx driver was
loaded. I also tried to boot with an empty xorg.conf. Same result.
+ Xorg.0.log is empty. I am only attaching last 1000 lines of messages
+ log.

  # lspci | grep VGA
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc M92 [Mobility Radeon HD 4500 Series]
