[Bug 455603] Re: [i965gm] No mouse after login in Ubuntu after install of Ubuntu-X ppa package today

I'm experiencing a similar problem with a non nvidea card:

03:00.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: ATI Technologies Inc Radeon RV100 QY [Radeon 7000/VE] [1002:5159]
Subsystem: C.P. Technology Co. Ltd Device [148c:2072]
	Control: I/O+ Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping+ SERR- FastB2B- DisINTx-
	Status: Cap+ 66MHz+ UDF- FastB2B+ ParErr- DEVSEL=medium >TAbort- <TAbort- <MAbort- >SERR- <PERR- INTx-
Latency: 32 (2000ns min), Cache Line Size: 32 bytes
Interrupt: pin A routed to IRQ 19
	Region 0: Memory at d0000000 (32-bit, prefetchable) [size=128M]
	Region 1: I/O ports at c000 [size=256]
	Region 2: Memory at de000000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=64K]
[virtual] Expansion ROM at dd000000 [disabled] [size=128K]
	Capabilities: <access denied>
	Kernel driver in use: radeon
	Kernel modules: radeonfb, radeon

The mouse kind of works, by moving over icons I am able to locate the
mouse, and even start Terminal (within the GUI). Pressing 'Enter' in the
terminal makes the pointer appear.
