I'm still on Lucid's stock Xorg, and this is happening less and less,
now for the first time in three weeks, and the netbook is switched on
for hours every day.

I'm currently on
- kernel 2.6.32-16-generic #25-Ubuntu SMP
- xserver-xorg-core 2:1.7.5-1ubuntu3
- xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.9.1-1ubuntu13

Going to try the PPA next.
