It's not corrupt, the problem was actually that xserver 1.5.1 was
compiling in dri2 support unconditionally and you probably don't have
dri2proto even installed. This was fixed just after xserver 1.5.1 and
the fix is included in xserver 1.5.2. Either way, this was not mesa's
fault and is not a problem with any of the ubuntu packages.
