[Bug 533552] Re: Ubuntu default font is too big
The 96 dpi is controlled by gnome. In X we're just taking the upstream defaults for font sizing.
I tend to agree with the previous poster that reducing the font size might be desirable for some, but will be seen as an undesirable regression by others.
