Please make sure to enable the nvidia driver, reboot and run

apport-collect 549379

in a terminal once you have the wrong resolution so the Xorg logs are
attached to the report. Thanks!

[lucid] Ubuntu with NVIDIA starts up in 1440x900, even though screen is 1680x1050. Nouveau works fine.
