Pjotr, be aware we generally only focus on the issue reported by the
original reporter.  This is because too often people 'me-too' onto bug
reports when they have a completely separate unrelated problem.  As
well, X bugs typically are very hardware-specific.  Since the original
bug report is i945 and you have a i915, we would not consider your issue
when troubleshooting for Asif.  You have not provided your own files
from your system, so would not be able to troubleshoot your issue
anyway.

As far as it being a "show stopper", Lucid is running fine on my i945.
If you actually want to help solve bugs please start by reviewing
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Reporting to familiarize yourself with the bug
reporting process, and look at the guides at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Troubleshooting to learn how to analyze blank-
on-boot issues.

Keep in mind there are thousands of bugs reported about X to Ubuntu, and
while it would be nice to give each commenter on every bug report a
personal reply, it just isn't humanly possible.
