[Bug 553789] Re: X freeze/crash with noveau driver
My new laptop does exactly the same thing even though I haven't gathered
any info the behavior is the same. I have the problem that I can't use
the NonFree nvidia module since it doesn't support my nVidia GT330M
chip.
I check with nVidia and they don't provide any driver (stable or beta)
and if I install the driver jockey want's me to install it just makes X
screw up upon reboot.
By screw up I mean, it says that the video configuration is not valid or
something like that and then i can chose between a few options what to
do.
I'm running Kubuntu 10.04 beta 2 but the same problem happens on Ubuntu 10.04 beta 2 ofc.
I do realize that I can't really complain since it's beta :-) but my feeling is the driver wont change much untill 10.04 LTS stable comes out.
