Thanks for that DanaG.  It looks like

might be a fix for this.  This commit is available in the packages from
the xorg-edgers PPA here: https://edge.launchpad.net/~xorg-
edgers/+archive/ - can you check that this fixes it, and we should still
be able to pull this fix into Lucid.
