Please include a photo of the screen showing the problem, especially if
it shows corruption on that lower portion.

You said that you have desktop effects enabled but they crash on login,
which is confusing - why do you usually have them on if the system
crashes that way?  Please explain in more detail.  And, is it compiz
that crashes or X?
