Message #62047
[Bug 562203] Re: package fglrx 2:8.723.1-0ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-removal script returned error exit status 2
Yesterday and this morning, when trying to install the daily upgrades, I
received an error message about 3 broken files related to this ATI
driver. Broken files of course mean no updating.
I submitted a bug report this morning, because yesterday's attempt to
fix the broken fglrx-related packages didn't work, and only 3 of the 2
could be removed using Synaptic (the third wanted to reinstall this ATI
fglrx driver--and update advisor stil listed 3 broken files even if
synaptic said only 1 was still broken). This evening I managed to
uninstall them using terminal, then seemingly ran the upgrade again. the
newer ATI fglrx driver still doesn't seem to work.
And the main reason I am participating the the beta process (sound
hasn't been working if I use an HDMI connection either native to the
Nvidia MB or now through this all-in-wonder video/tuner card) hasn't
been corrected either. The appropriate bug report in karmic says it was
corrected in lucid, but obviously it hasn't--I still show no sound
devices. And the sound works fine in the Vista boot of this PC.
