[Bug 539889] Re: cairo-dock crashed with SIGSEGV in cairo_dock_initialize_opengl_backend()

Hi, sorry for the delay. It appears from the convo that this might be a
problem somewhere else, which does not surprise me. Lucid is the first
version where OpenGL worked well enough on this laptop to use Compiz
Under 8.04 I could either use the opensource drivers with no OpenGL, or
use the proprietary drivers which did not suspend - suspending is more
important, so I had to suffer along without OpenGL. Some day I'll be
able to upgrade to a newer laptop with the new Radeon open source
hotness :).

Anyway, just to followup - I re-ran cairo with the three different
options. using -o I still get crash message (with the apport panel,
but that fails to get sent because it's no longer an "Ubuntu package"),
and sometimes it actually dies but sometimes it stays running even
though it says it crashed. When it stays running the panel is a
flickers rapidly between a piece of a standard window (with 'standard
header, 'File', 'Edit', etc.) about 200 pixels wide (the rest of the
window width is transparent), and a full-width black rectangle. Some of
the icons are not there - their place is there but there is no icon.
With -O I get the same same visuals but I don't think it ever thinks it
is crashing.

Looking in the log output, I don't see anything unusual so I won't
bother posting them unless you want me to.

If it's helpful to you I can perform other tests but for regular use
I'll just work around this by starting it without OpenGL (using -c),
which seems to work just fine.
