[Bug 550625] Re: Alps touchpad is recognized but neither gsynaptics nor mouse preferences work
In VT, I did:
$ sudo lsinput | less
and found "AlpsPS/2 ALPS GlidePoint" at
/dev/input/event7
so then I did:
$ sudo evtest /dev/input/event7 | tee evtest.dump
and wound up with a blinking cursor and no output at all corresponding
to input from the trackpad. I had to do a forced shutdown to get out
of it. I will check to see if evtest.dump was created and post output
here if I find it.
