Try the following commands:
sudo update-alternatives --config gl_conf
(and select the alternative provided by fglrx)
sudo ldconfig
sudo update-initramfs -u
Then attach the output of the following commands:
update-alternatives --display gl_conf
ldconfig -p | grep GL
If all goes well, a system restart will be required.
