Unfortunately the bug report does not indicate what video driver is in
use, but presumably it's one of the open source drivers which is using
Kernel modesetting.  Since the kernel does modesetting, issues like this
with the monitor modes or resolution or output enabling really are
kernel drm bugs now.  Sorry for the pingpong.
