I have a Xybernaut MA-V with an ATI Rage Mobility P/M (rev 64) aka
mach64 running Karmic and yes glxinfo "says" direct rendering is
enabled, but the OpenGL render string is "Software Rasterizer", glxinfo
| egrep "direct rendering|OpenGL renderer" returns:

direct rendering: Yes
OpenGL renderer string: Software Rasterizer

... so I don't think you can mark the bug fixed as yet.
