I unmarked this bug as duplicate of 541501 as there is a patch for
541501 - but no update that was released last time seemed to help me
with my problem of flickering and shivering on external monitor.

but as i installed the latest kernel from
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeam/MainlineBuilds?action=show&redirect=KernelMainlineBuilds
the problem doesn't appear again. probably the bug is not in the *-ati
package but in the kernel?
