[Bug 569921] Re: trident cyberblade not recognised on install

apport information

** Tags added: apport-collected

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: ubuntu-docs

  1 Install procedure.

2 Ubuntu lucid (development branch) release 10.04 beta 2

3 I expected the installation of Ubuntu to detect my graphics chip
(trident cyberblade xp) and install a suitable resolution screen
  (1400x1050).

4 An 800x600 screen 'default' driver was installed.

  Notes:
     16MB graphics ram
Computer is a Toshiba Tecra 8200 (1 GHz proc, 512MB RAM).
Linux 'Puppy' picks it up fine at full res.
The driver is called 'trident' and is in the installation.
This hasn't worked since my first attempts to run Ubuntu with 9.04
