[Bug 570735] [NEW] Kubuntu fails to boot during KDE splash screen
You have been subscribed to a public bug:
I've been testing out the RC of Kubuntu 10.04;
My laptop (ASUS X50 GL) gets past the Kubuntu loading screen, and when
it gets to the KDE splash screen, it freezes just before it finishs
unfuzzing the 'K'. Please note this was in a LiveUSB enviroment
I've been informed by someone who had a similar problem that the only way to login is to uninstall the nvidia-current drivers and reinstall/dpkg-reconfigure the xserver-xorg-video-nouveau.
To me, that means nothing; it does however mean that for a reason which I'm only slightly aware is a graphics issue, I can't boot into the next release of Kubuntu. I am very sad :(
I have checked my installation medium and it runs fine on two other computers. Only this one.
** Affects: nvidia-graphics-drivers (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: Incomplete
