I have the same problem with my Satellite A50 laptop, which has intel 82852/855GM GPU.
$ lsb_release -rd
Description:	Ubuntu 10.04 LTS
Release:	10.04   #RC edition, clearly installed
$ dpkg -l xserver-xorg-video-intel
