[Bug 568779] Re: 10.04 rc livecd boots into black/blank screen (intel 82852/855GM graphic card)

 

A this time it's impossible the bug is fixed that's sure. 
If ubuntu release the 10.04 with this bug that's a disaster as you say !! It's a common graphic card, how many people could be touch ? How many could be touch and who unknow what's a recovery mode or how to enter in it ?

With the new ubuntu grub/boot loader which don't show the grub select
screen, I use two hours to find how to have the grub select screen and
the recovery mode option.

For non geeks people with 8XX graphics card that's mean a broken pc.
Broken because they'll never update their install because they didn't
know how update it in commad line, with synapitcs or how to have a
failsafe screen. Most of them certainly did'nt know than an update could
remove the bug or what's a bug report and come here to have more
informations.
