[Bug 505494] Re: Mouse events fail frequently and unpredictably, requiring kwin restart
The KDE bug tracker has the following bug report about a situation which
leads to similar mouse problems as described here. That problem occurs
only if the mouse gestures feature has been turned on.

There is also a method for recovering from the problem without
restarting the X session by issuing the following command, which sends a
fake mouse button 2 release event:
xdotool mouseup 2
