WTF? This *is* about lucid. I only mentioned 9.04 because that was the
version I upgraded from (indeed, I thought this might be relevant, as I
had installed a couple of other machines from scratch, where this
problem did not occur). But the problem occurs *after* the upgrade, i.e.
in lucid. And it used to work before.
