[Bug 574034] Re: google earth does not render any zoom level with ATI Radeon Xpress 200M video graphics adaptor
I've tried various recipes that are reputed to solve this including
this one found on https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Troubleshooting
sudo /usr/share/ati/fglrx-uninstall.sh # (if it exists)/FglrxInteferesWithRadeonDriver
sudo apt-get remove --purge fglrx*
sudo apt-get remove --purge xserver-xorg-video-ati xserver-xorg-video-radeon
sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg-video-ati
sudo apt-get install --reinstall libgl1-mesa-glx libgl1-mesa-dri xserver-xorg-core
sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
So far, it looks like ubuntu 10.04 does not play nice with the graphics card identified in sysinfo as:
ATI Xpress 200M 5955 (PCIE)
Subsystem: Hewlett-Packard Company Device 3091
I may just revert to 9.10 which worked perfectly. I found no problems at
all with graphics over the 5 months I ran 9.10 on this HP Presario
V2710US notebook.
