Hello,

By checking deeper (as I had an X shutdown after a ctrl+c this morning),
I found that on /var/log/gdm/xsplash-gdm.log :

[09:31:47:2071228439 - MSG] received signal: gdm
[09:31:47:2071228499 - MSG] gdm mode: fading out
[09:31:48:2070062061 - MSG] fade finished
[09:31:48:2070077025 - MSG] exiting...

does it helps ?
