Message #71928
[Bug 578028] [NEW] Ubuntu 10.04 blank screen on boot
You have been subscribed to a public bug:
Fresh install of ubuntu 10.04, can get to grub 2 and choose recovery or
normal boot, but all have the same effect, a blank screen and cannot
login to ubuntu nor press ALT+F1, F2 ...., the only command I can
execute is CTRL+ALT+DEL to reboot.
This is an Intel DG31PR with 4GB of ram and an ATI RADEON X300.
On this machine I have FreeBSD (boots ok), Gentoo (boots ok), Fedora
(boots ok), ubuntu 9.10 (boots ok), ubuntu 10.04 can't boot blank
screen.
Also when we choose single on grub it should give a simple console not a
pseudo gui, keep it simple...
** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: Incomplete
