[Bug 578603] [NEW] 10.0.4 powermac g5 video artifacts
You have been subscribed to a public bug:
Binary package hint: ubuntu-docs
Installed 10.04 side-by-side with existing 9.10 partition. When booted
into 10.04 upon login to primary account, display shows a dark,
oscillating band (approx 20-30 pixels wide) near the left edge of the
display, extending the entire height of the display. Display mode is
1440x900, 60Hz.
If window containing white background is moved to overlay the affected
area, a strong green tint is cast over the entire display area.
When booted into 9.10 partition, none of these artifacts are present.
$ lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS
Release: 10.04
Expected behavior: display appears without described artifacts.
Artifacts do not appear to affect the functionality of the system, only
the quality of the display.
Screen shot (gnome-screenshot) does not contain artifacts, so I assume
the problem is in the graphics driver, although I do not know which
package provides that software.
This is a clean installation, no additional software installed after
installer reboot.
** Affects: xorg-server (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: Incomplete
