You haven't followed my advances in the Fedora bug lately.

Instead of surrendering to the blob, try appending this to the kernel
line in /etc/grub.conf:

usbhid.quirks=0xeef:0x1:0x40

If you can't compile xinput_touchscreen, install this first and see what
happens:

sudo apt-get install build-essential libgtkmm-dev
