[Bug 538346] [NEW] Display manager in Ubuntu 9.10 not working with dual displays properly
You have been subscribed to a public bug:
Hi,
I have recently moved to Ubuntu 9.10 (karmic) and am running Kernal
Linux 2.6.31-19-generic-pae and gnome 2.28.1.
I have a dual monitor running off Geforce 8600 GT video card. The device
driver on xorg.conf have been set to the genetic "nv" drivers w/ display
setting used to allow the primary monitor to bleed into the second
screen rather than using the propriety "nvidia" drivers w/ twinspan
option on (this caused conflicts with various java programs I am using).
The problem is that when booting the system I find that although
visually the screens look OK, when I try and drag a window into the
second screen 90% of the window will go but 10% will not -- it is as if
I hit a wall.
If I use "configure the display settings" to mirror the screens (and
apply), then untick mirror screens(and apply), the screens are OK again
-- i.e. the windows can be dragged back and forth OK.
Any help would be appreciated.
Simon
