Hi, I have the same thing, X is using about 33% of cpu on a dual-core thinkpad x200, newish install of lucid.
/usr/bin/X :0 -nr -verbose -auth /var/run/gdm/auth-for-gdm-8o0dy2/database -nolisten tcp vt7
