COMMENT
gnome-settings-daemon is 2.30.1-0ubuntu1, and all other software
upgraded to the newest versions
$killall -9 gnome-settings-daemon - this stops flashing of the display,
but without it the desktop looks like crap :(
There is also this notice "Could not switch the monitor configuration /
Could not set the configuration for CRCT64"
It just happens out of the blue, and sometimes after reboot it stops.
Logging out does not help - it flashes in the login screen also.
If I look into the screen while the screen is flashing it looks like
only backlight of the display is turned of for a moment and than turned
on and of and on... The icons, panels etc. are there but not lit so it
looks like the display is off.
If you need any other info, please write how to get it, and I'll
copy/paste the output.
Thanks.
