Please test with the current mainline kernel [1]. Installation instructions are here [2]. Also please test with the xorg-edgers packages [3]. Installation instructions:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:xorg-edgers/ppa
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install ppa-purge
sudo apt-get upgrade
To revert: 'sudo ppa-purge xorg-edgers'.

Also see if the problem still happens when suspending from text mode
