[Bug 598366] [NEW] touchpad not recognized

You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Model: ASUS K42JV-X1
OS: Ubuntu 10.04 (64-bit)

When I go to "System > Mouse" I do not see a tab for Touchpad.
Unfortunately, this prevents me from disabling especially tap-click
(grrrrr)

Here are some dmesg output:

me@asus:~$ dmesg | grep -i synaptics
me@asus:~$ dmesg | grep -i touchpad
me@asus:~$ dmesg | grep -i mouse
