[Bug 601596] [NEW] X Server crashes after logout
You have been subscribed to a public bug:
I am using Kubuntu Netbook 10.04 on a Samsung N150. I have two users on
my system, the user created during the install and a second user created
under system settings at a later time. The second user does not have
administrative rights.
The problem (bug) occurs after one user logs in and out. A second user
is able to log in without problems but on logout the X Server crashes
and KDM fails to start. The keyboard is locked out and the only option
is to power down using the power switch.
It does not matter which user logs in first or second and it can be the
same user twice. The bug is consistent in its behavior and this happens
every time. I am currently running the 23 version of the Kubuntu kernel
and the bug has been present in all versions - 21,22,and 23.
I have looked at /var/log/messages and /var/log/XOrg.log but nothing is
showing up related to this problem. I am not even sure it is an X
Server problem, I just listed it as that since that is what fails to
start after the logout.
I am willing to help in whatever way possible to get this bug resolved.
Thanks,
Dave
