Message #81215
[Bug 572521] Re: vertical coloured lines on bootup dell inspiron 1501
In response to #59 please re read #54, in the latest versions i am
unable to see anything on screen apart from the vertical coloured lines
this applies to 2.6.32-22 and 2.6.32-23. If you have a way i can fulfil
your request then please let me know and I will attempt it. I still do
not understand your answer #58, as i stated all apport results were
carried out on lucid or at least against grub entries that say they are
lucid. I have supplied two sets of apport results on 2.6.32-20 and
2.6.32-21. I am currently using 2.6.32-20 as this does not have the
problem. I can work on 2.6.32-21 but this involves waiting for an
inactivity timeout to occur then after inputting my password I can work,
before the timeout i just have the vertical coloured lines on the screen
(Unfortunately no noticeable timeout occurs on -22 or -23 so i can never
see anything on the screen). As I have said before I am not technically
knowledgeable in Unix/Linux, but I am willing to attempt anything you
suggest in order to resolve this issue. As regards a screenshot I dont
possess a digital camera but I will try to borrow one, and will supply
as soon as poss.
