Hi, I had the same issue. My latop is a dell that came with ubuntu 9.04.
I tried to upgrade to 9.10 and i get devices errors, and after upgrade
to 10.4 i could not use the sistem at all, because the keyword and mouse
was totally disabled, so I can't loggin.

I restore to the factory version and is working well. I hope this can be
solve soon to get my system up to date.

I just had the same output of Natarajan during booting:

mount: mounting none on /dev failed 
chroot: can not execute /etc/apparmor/initramfs: no such file or directory.

Then the login box appear but i can't do anything.
