[Bug 616023] Re: nVidia card : X won't start since 1.9 update, no screens found
I have the same issue with nvidia kernel but nouveau works fine.
Only an Alt-Sysrq-B gets any response even in recovery mode for 2.6.35-14-generic kernel.
Fortunately, I still had a mainline kernel (2.6.34-020634-generic) from testing before I upgraded to Maverick from Lucid.
This kernel in recovery mode allowed me to get back in to set nouveau as the driver.
