How to reproduce:
1. Eeepc 1000HD
2. Installed Ubuntu Studio (karmic)
3. upgraded today (+ proposed, backports)
4. had problems logging in (due to keyboard repeat problem)

keyboard repeat is variable after a few minutes. Sometimes just touching
a key gives me repeats, sometimes after a few seconds. Running xset -r
gives a stream of repeated enter keys.

This makes the environment almost impossible to use without a mouse.

Other:
- disconnecting netbook from power seems to trigger continuous screen fading every few seconds, during which some keys are eaten. 
- this is a fresh install with a full update
