Message #85488
[Bug 570879] Re: OpenGL graphic errors in google earth
wow - unexpected things happening here
after hibernating again and this time putting the nomodeset boot option
on the kernel command line again googleearth is working again...
the earth are in the application it's flickering a little bit when i
move it over or hide it below other windows but that's no problem at
all. when it's minimized the flickering stops and i can use other ass on
the same desktop. when it's in the foreground and not mooved the
application behaves as expected - "works like a charm" (tm) - the earth
is spinning at enormous speed :-)
glxinfo reports still the same, xorg.0.log is has not changed, nothing has changed except the graphics card initialization, i guess
but how can googleearth be possibly "finding this out" ? the "googleearth was not started in 'DirectX' mode message doesn't appear any more.
(so now "compiz works with dri1 as well but googleearth (wine?) requires
that the graphics card initialisation is not messed with when using dri1
and doesn't work with dri2" - or something like that ... :-))
