[Bug 433699] [NEW] Failed to set gfx for Geode on Jaunty (fresh install on Fit-PC 1)
You have been subscribed to a public bug:
This is related to my previous enthusiasm mentioned in bug 214119, in
which I found a workaround to make gfx (AMD Geode) for the Fit-PC 1
(fit-pc.com) work on Hardy.
This does not work with fresh install on Jaunty, which I performed twice
just the other day on the exact same unit as I did Hardy.
Boot halts, grey prompt saying
'
(EE)Geode(0): GPIO pins are in serial mode.
Assuming no DDC
'
Next grey prompt offers to 'Run Ubuntu in low graphics mode for one session only' + a 'Review logs' and 'Edit configuration'.
I go with the first option: 'It appears that the screen number (x.x) is already in use'
I can then get a 800x600 res.
Someone know a fix?
I have also run 'ubuntu-bug -p xserver-xorg-video-geode'
