Thanks for reporting bug and help us to make ubuntu better. Your every contribution in this regard make ubuntu a better OS every day. Regarding the bug, I expect some additional information on your part, to properly triage your bug so that it can be actively worked upon by a developer.

Is the issue still remains in ubuntu 10.04

I hope you can provide us with the following output::

- My touchpad is not being detected in Ubuntu 9.04. I checked the kernel
- logs and it detects a "Macintosh mouse button emulation", which I don't
- think is the right device. My mouse is supposed to be a Synaptics
- touchpad as detected in Windows Vista.
