[Bug 590010] Re: X server stuck at 100%, screen black, severe, recovery: reboot from console

I believe that the best way to reproduce it is to use the "switch from
<user>" function.

First, use an nVidia video card (my second PC using an Intel Graphics
Media Accelerator 950 does not present the same problem... or at least
it is very rare).

Then:
1) Connect using a first account: A1
2) Launch some processes for A1, for example firefox and openoffice (if possible also skype... for some reason, skype increases the risk of crash)
3) Switch from A1: in general, this step is safe.
4) Connect using a second account: A2
5) Again, launch some processes for A2, for example firefox and openoffice
6) After that, Switch from A2... then connect in A1. If everything is fine, then switch from A1 back to A2... and so on. In my case, with two or more accounts running Xorg could go in infinite loop (a few times per week). With the nVidia proprietary driver, this problem happens more often that with the Nouveau driver (this bug)... so maybe it would be better to check Bug #589352 (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/589352)

I hope this explaination will help.
