Message #87651
[Bug 625239] Re: X starts on wrong tty: pressing enter after 5 minutes crashes X
hi John,
here are your #33 requests:
my system:
home made desktop: p5wdh+q9550+8500gt+4go ddr2+2pata+1sata
os: maverick i386 with latest main server updates (35-20-generic-pae)
packages: plymouth 0.2.8.2-2ubuntu3, gdm 2.30.5-0ubuntu2, upstart 0.6.6-3, nvidia-current 256.53-0ubuntu2
note: compiz completly removed/purged
how it boot:
start as it might, gdm ask for password, i enable numlock as my password
is built with num+letters, write the password and validate (enter): at
that time gdm fail and it ask again for password, but numlock is again
disabled (strange), i enabled numlock again and validate my password,
now its working.
what is logged:
i've booted with plymouth:debug on the boot line.
/var/run/gdm/ : cant read it, the icon folder is greyed with an x, own by root:gdm (i've my user added to gdm group)
gdm-session-worker[1201]: GLib-GObject-CRITICAL: g_value_get_boolean:
assertion `G_VALUE_HOLDS_BOOLEAN (value)' failed
