[Bug 631933] [NEW] X freeze during boot after 10.04 LTS upgrade to 10.10 Beta
You have been subscribed to a public bug:
Upgraded an Acer Travel Mate 6592 G from 10.04 LTS to 10.10 Beta.
Description:
When rebooting after upgrade, the splash screen freezes. The hard disk keeps working for a few more seconds. I can still reboot the computer by pressing CTRL + ALT + DEL, but the same thing happens after each reeboot. I can not go into fail safe X mode, but fail safe root terminal works. And I can log on from another computer by SSH. To me, it seems like the X-server is frozen.
Expected behaviour:
The computer should continue booting into X.
The computer is using an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2400 XT grapics card.
** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
